Cryotherapy
Cryotherapy involves a liquid nitrogen spray used to freeze and destroy affected skin cells. Used for the treatments of warts and veruccas, this can be an effective way of removing these annoying and troublesome viruses.
How does Cryotherapy work?
Liquid nitrogen is sprayed directly onto the wart or may be applied using a stick with cotton wool on the tip. After treatment, a sore blister may form, followed by a scab, which will fall off 7-10 days later.
Cryotherapy usually takes 5-15 minutes and it can be painful. Large warts sometimes need to be frozen a number of times, a week or so apart, before they clear up.
Results you can expect:
Cryotherapy can be a very effective way of removing warts or veruccas, however it may be necessary to repeat treatment several times to gain maximum effect. Often it is combined with other treatments such as Danne Alkaline Wash or Advanced Cosmetic Procedure (ACP) to gain a quicker resolution.
