Our LED (Light Emitting Diode) system incorporates both red and blue lights. Historically, LED has been used in combination with other skin treatments, or to complement skin care products and protocols, to increase the effectiveness of results. However, it is gaining popularity as a safe, non-invasive stand alone treatment that has been shown to improve acne, repair sun damaged and wrinkled skin and significantly relieve the symptoms of rosacea, psoriasis and eczema.
Although it's classed as a medical device, the LED light falls well within Health and Safety Executive guidelines for occupational exposure of unprotected eyes and skin. The lamps are dichroic filtered with no UV content and because the output is not as intense as a laser or IPL, it doesn't traumatise the skin. LED is a non-invasive and drug free procedure, offering a pleasant treatment experience and no downtime.
How does LED Work?
Blue Light targets the type of bacteria that plays a part in the acne cycle. It creates Oxygen, which kills P.acne bacteria without damaging healthy skin.
Red Light helps to stimulate the production of new collagen and helps repair the skin’s barrier function. The red light energy triggers the bodies natural responses within the dermal layers to increase skin rejuvenation and repair.
It is clinically proven that the effects of the LED include?
- The stimulation and production of collagen
- Reduction in acne lesions and inflammation
- Improvements in the appearance of lines and wrinkles
- Help to treat problem skin, such as acne, rosacea, eczema and psoriasis
