Advanced Cosmetic Procedure (ACP)

ACP is known as Advanced Cosmetic Procedure. The treatment is completed via our electrolysis machine and is a quick, easy, safe and effective way of treating a variety of skin blemish conditions such as milia, warts, skintags, facial thread veins and blood spots.

 How does ACP work?

Diathermy is the main modality used for the treatment of various unwanted skin blemishes. The diathermy treatment techniques have proven to be an extremely ‘safe and precise’ way to treat many superficial skin abnormalities. Following diagnosis of the skin blemish a probe is accurately positioned in or on the vessel or blemish, and a current is applied which will either cauterise, dry or dehydrate the blemish.

The following Skin blemishes that can be treated are:

Facial thread veins – commonly found around the nose, on the cheeks or in the shape of a spider like appearance, also known as spider naevus.

Skin tags - commonly found on the neck, underarms and other areas of friction.

Milia – tiny white hard lumps containing keratin and build-up of dead skin cells.

Warts - there are various types such as, common, seborrheic and verrucae.

Blood spots -resembling a bright red vascular blemish.

Moles- we can visibly reduce the size of moles. (Please note the treatment of moles require written content for a GP prior to treatment being carried out.)

Duration of treatment – Approximately 15-30 minutes.

Anaesthesia required – None.

Downtime – Depending on the skin blemish/condition being treated and the size of it, you can expect some post treatment discomfort and scabbing as the area heals.

Final results – This will depend on the blemish being treated, some conditions can be quite resilient, and more than one treatment may be necessary. It is very important that you follow your aftercare advice for advanced cosmetic procedures to reduce the risk of any adverse reactions.

Suitable for – Anyone wanting to remove a skin blemish. Although there is no evidence that this treatment is harmful for pregnant women, we do advise to wait until after you have given birth before any treatment.
